How does the competition work?
The Jury and the Evaluation System
In the initial rounds, each athlete competes and has 60 seconds for a run. This is evaluated by the judging team from Brazil and ranked for advancement into the knockout phase.
Depending on the number of participants, the knockout phase begins in the round of 16 or quarterfinals. Athletes then compete against each other. The competitors each have 2 minutes to showcase their skills on the slackline. The time starts as soon as the person is on the slackline and stops when they voluntarily or involuntarily dismount. This process continues until both time limits are exhausted.
Unlike many other sports, dozens of tricks are created within 30 seconds, often combined into combos. Consequently, it has become challenging for judges (subjectively) to evaluate. Therefore, this year, we are supported by the Brazilian trickline community with their digital evaluation system. The runs of the athletes are recorded and then evaluated using a database of tricks
GIBOARD Jam
Right after the qualification round, the 2nd GIBOARD Jam Session kicks off β this time with a new format and cash prizes for the most creative and stylish performances.
How does it work?
Each participant has one minute to showcase their best tricks and most creative combos on the GIBOARD. A jury will evaluate the performances based on four criteria:
1.Consistency β How clean and stable are the moves?
2. Creativity β How original and inventive is the performance?
3. Difficulty β How technically demanding are the tricks?
4. Style β How smooth, expressive, and aesthetically impressive is the overall presentation?
Whether you're bringing fresh new tricks or impressing with effortless flow β this is your chance to show what you've got.

Your first time at the Trickline World Cup? Here's what you can expect!
As the youngest World Cup champion in the 17-year history of the sport and defending champion, Rikuto Nakamura will compete alongside his brother Takushi and his challenger Shin Kikukawa (Japan).
Brazil is also rallying, led by last year's runner-up and crowd favorite Hendle Santos from Belo Horizonte, to defeat the Japanese favorites. Local hero Benni Schmid, one of Europe's top trickliners, will also compete with the world's elite.
Tricklining is a freestyle sport from the family of slacklining. Last year, several groundbreaking tricks were performed, including the "Triple Fearless".

How does Tricklining work?
Athletes balance and jump on a 5cm wide, 2m high, and 25m long special slackline (Trickline) above a 9 x 9m wide airbag. The band is tightly tensioned, and in combination with its length and stretching properties, creates a trampoline effect. In jumps reaching up to 5m high from sitting (buttbounce), lying (chestbounce), back (backbounce), or standing position (to feet), athletes rotate in all axes, with up to 3 spins, flips, or a combination thereof. Hundreds of tricks result from this. If one can control the trick/bounce, they can immediately move on to the next trick and so on. This results in thousands of possibilities, from simple tricks to spectacular flights, in the design, execution, and combination of tricks
The Trickline Language
As mentioned above, there are terms that describe these tricks and body positions, which help describe the trick. Starting from sitting and performing a backflip, landing on the feet, is called a Buttbackflip to feet. Depending on the execution, there may also be double/triple rotations and 180 to 1080 (triple turns). The honor of naming new tricks goes to those who develop them. The exciting part is that through the Trickline language, a worldwide community explains the named tricks.
Examples: Backburner to feet: butt backflip to backbounce to feet Double Fearless: double butt frontflip to chest
The Kessel Festival
The Trickline World Cup is hosted by GIBBON as part of the Kessel Festival, a traditional festival in Stuttgart that provides a complete experience. Sports, music, culture, and good energy, all in one place.
In partnership with sponsoring partners, the Stuttgart-based slackline brand GIBBON transforms the Cannstatter Wasen into the Trickline Arena

GIBBON SLACKLINE EXPERIENCE WORLD

Once again this year, we will give you the opportunity to try slacklining. Due to its popularity, we are expanding the experience world and will also offer workshops this year. No prior knowledge of slacklining is required for the workshops, as they are designed to provide an introduction to the topic. The following courses/workshops are offered:
Saturday and Sunday:
Beginner Workshops: Learn the methodically correct approach to mastering balance on a slackline.
Back Training: Slacklining, especially with the GIBOARD (see image), offers the opportunity to alleviate or even correct typical sitting discomfort in the lumbar and cervical spine areas.
Giboard Trick Workshop: Learn tricks on the GIBOARD and discover the possibilities of playing with balance.
